The No. 14 East Central Community College Lady Warrior softball team picked up a sweep Wednesday, March 22, over Hinds Community College in Raymond.

East Central won the opener of the doubleheader 5-0, and then took game two 9-6.

The Lady Warriors are now 24-4 on the season and 9-3 in MACJC league play. Hinds drops to 6-21 overall.

The nationally ranked Meridian Community College tennis teams swept matches from the East Central Community College men’s and women’s teams at the Tennis Complex in Decatur March 22.

The No. 20 ranked Meridian women defeated the ECCC Lady Warriors 9-0, while the No. 13 Meridian men beat the No.17 East Central Warriors 9-0. The East Central women are now 4-6 overall on the season and the men are 6-4.

Gage Leifried of Meridian and Mackenzie Gray of Mendenhall were selected Mr. and Miss East Central Community College for the 2016-17 school year by a recent vote of the student body.

The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center will offer a course in Manufacturing Safety beginning Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Louisville Career Advancement Center, located at 860 Church Avenue.

The class meets from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday for two consecutive weeks. The cost is $25 per person. Greg Forsythe will serve as instructor.

The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center will offer “Technology for Teachers” beginning Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career-Technical Center.

Classes will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. for eight consecutives Monday nights. The cost is $50 per person. Lacie Flake will serve as instructor.
