The East Central Community College basketball teams closed out 2019 play with a sweep over visiting Delgado Community College Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the campus in Decatur.

The ECCC Lady Warriors never trailed in defeating the Delgado Lady Dolphins from New Orleans 57-46 in the opener. The Warriors picked up a 97-72 win over the Dolphins in the men’s contest.

The East Central Community College baseball program is hosting Around the Diamond with Tim Anderson Jan. 17, featuring the former Warrior All-American baseball player and current Major League Baseball batting champion.

The East Central Community College softball program is hosting a three-week Instructional Camp in January for 7th through 12th grade players.

The camps are scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 6, 13, and 20, 2020. The cost is $100 per person and includes a T-shirt.

East Central Community College freshman kicking specialist Robens Beauplan has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association First Team All-America Special Teams squad, the NJCAA announced today.

Warrior sophomore offensive tackle TyKeem Doss was named to the NJCAA Second Team All-America Offense.

The East Central Community College basketball teams dropped a pair of MACJC South Division contests to the undefeated teams from Mississippi Gulf Coast Monday, Dec. 9, in the Weathers-Wentzell Center on the Gulf Coast campus in Perkinston.

The Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs won the opener 52-44, while the Gulf Coast Bulldogs took the men’s game 102-90.

East Central Community College in Decatur will close all offices for the Christmas holidays beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.

Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.
