East Central Community College’s Adult Education Division will hold Orientation sessions during February and March at locations throughout the district for prospective students who wish to obtain their high school equivalency diploma or those interested in the college’s MI-BEST program, which allows students to simultaneously earn the high school equivalency diploma and select associate degrees at the same time.

The East Central Community College Warrior football program will host an open tryout for all positions on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Bailey Stadium on the ECCC campus in Decatur.
Those football players interested in trying out for the ECCC football team should report to the stadium for registration at 10 a.m. The tryouts will begin at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to tryout.
Prospective players should bring their own cleats and gear to workout in.

For the first time in program history, both the East Central Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams will open the spring season with a national ranking.
The Lady Warriors are No. 20 in the first Oracle/ITA JUCO Women’s Top 25 Poll of the season released Jan. 23 and No 7 in Region III. The Warriors are No. 21 in the men’s poll and No. 8 in Region III.

An open tryout for the 2020 East Central Community College men’s soccer team will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, at Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus, announced head men’s soccer coach Kenneth Thompson.
Players will need to bring their own equipment to workout in for the afternoon. All players will have to sign a waiver of liability in order to participate in the tryouts and provide a copy of a current physical.

Just a day after being named the MACJC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, East Central Community College sophomore guard Jariyah Covington added to her honors by being selected as the National Junior College Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Division I Player of the Week.
Covington, who prepped at Starkville High School, averaged 23.5 points per contest as the Lady Warriors split a pair of games during the Jan. 13-19 period.

The East Central Community College basketball teams made the short drive east on I-20 to face MACJC South Division rival Meridian Community College Tuesday, Jan. 21, and came home with a pair of losses.
The Meridian Lady Eagles used a decisive fourth period to pick up a 61-46 win over the Lady Warriors in the opener, while the Eagles came out on top with a hard-fought 87-82 win over the Warriors in the men’s action.

East Central Community College sophomore guard Jariyah Covington has been selected as the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges’ Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her play Jan. 13-19.
