East Central Community College in Decatur is ranked No. 27 in the nation among two-year colleges in preparing students to transfer to a four-year school or turn an Associate Degree into a successful career.
The new study “50 Best Schools for Transferring From Community College to University” was published Oct. 7 at LendingTree.com.

The No. 19 ranked East Central Community College Warriors will host the No. 1 ranked Gulf Coast Bulldogs in an MACJC South Division football contest Thursday, Oct. 10, in Decatur. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Bailey Stadium.
It will be “Black Out Bailey” as all Warrior fans are encouraged to wear black to the game.

Former East Central Community College Diamond Warrior Tim Anderson won the American League Batting Average Title following the recently completed 2019 Major League Baseball season.

The East Central Warriors defeated the homestanding Holmes Bulldogs 3-1 in soccer action Friday, Oct. 4, to take over sole possession of third place in the MACJC North Division standings.
In the women’s match, the No. 17 ranked Holmes Lady Bulldogs defeated the East Central Lady Warriors 6-0.
The matches were played on the Holmes campus in Ridgeland.

Newton County native and East Central Community College alumnus Randy Cleveland of Fort Worth, Texas, retired Vice President Americas of ExxonMobil Corporation, will be recognized as the college’s Alumnus of the Year during Homecoming activities scheduled Thursday, Oct. 17, on the Decatur campus.
