No. 15 ECCC Softball Gets MACJC Road Sweep at Hinds

The No. 15 ranked East Central Community College Lady Warriors picked up an important road doubleheader sweep over the Hinds Community College Lady Eagles Tuesday, April 10, as the two teams fight for playoff positioning in the MACJC softball standings.
The doubleheader was played at René Warren Softball Field on the Hinds campus in Raymond.
No. 20 East Central Baseball Picks Up Big Road Sweep at Hinds

The No. 20 ranked East Central Community College Warriors had to overcome early leads by Hinds Community College in both games to earn an important road doubleheader sweep over the Eagles Tuesday, April 10, at Joe G. Moss Field Raymond.
East Central trailed 5-0 after the first inning of game one before scoring the last nine runs of the game for a 9-5 win. Hinds again scored the first two runs of game two, before the Warriors scored the final three runs for a 3-2 win in the seven-inning contest.
Fisher Selected ECCC ‘Instructor of the Year’

Sharon LeJeune Fisher of Meridian, biological sciences instructor, was selected East Central Community College’s “Instructor of the Year” for 2018 and will be recognized during the college’s Administration, Faculty and Staff Association (AFSA) end-of-the-year luncheon in May.
ECCC Tennis Drops Pair of Road Matches at Hinds

East Central Community College’s men’s and women’s tennis teams dropped a pair of matches to Hinds Community College on Monday, April 9, in Raymond.
The East Central men fell 8-1 to the No. 15 Hinds Eagles, while the Lady Warriors dropped a 6-3 match to the Hinds Lady Eagles.
A bright spot for the ECCC women was that freshman Bethany Wellerman of Newton County Academy remained undefeated in singles play in MACJC matches, said East Central head coach Jay Pacelli.
No. 16 ECCC Baseball Splits Series at East Mississippi

The No. 16 East Central Community College Warriors snapped a three-game losing streak with an extra-inning win in game two and split a baseball doubleheader against the East Mississippi Community College Lions, Sunday, April 8, at Gerald Poole Field in Scooba.
East Central dropped the opener 10-2, but came back to take the second game 7-5 in eight innings.
