ECCC Warrior Baseball Moves to 4-0 With Sweep of Bevill State

The East Central Community College Baseball Warriors continued their hot play to start the 2018 season with a road doubleheader sweep of Bevill State Community College Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Fayette, Ala.

East Central took the opening game 10-4 then came from behind to win the nightcap 5-2. The teams played two seven-inning games due to no lights on the Bevill State field.

The Warriors are now 4-0 on the young season.

ECCC Invites Vendors to Participate in Business, Education, & Healthcare Expo

East Central Community College will host its 16th annual Business, Education, & Healthcare Expo from 9:30 to 11 .a.m. Thursday, March 29, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the Decatur campus.

ECCC Women’s Tennis Opens Season With 8-1 Defeat of Snead State

The East Central Community College women’s tennis team opened its 2018 spring season with an impressive 8-1 win over visiting Snead State Community College (Boaz, Ala.) Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Tennis Complex in Decatur.

“It was a strong start for our women’s team,” said ECCC head coach Jay Pacelli. “We persevered in a couple of tight doubles matches and are now looking forward to facing Co-Lin next week.”

ECCC Warrior Tennis Drops Season-Opening Match to No. 14 Marion Military

The East Central Community College men’s tennis team finally got its spring 2018 season underway Friday, Feb. 16, after several weather postponements. The No. 14 nationally ranked Marion Military Institute Tigers visited Decatur and left with an 8-1 win.

“We had our chances,” said ECCC Coach Jay Pacelli. “Willie Wooten and Landon Gibson had great efforts at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, but came up short. We also will be looking to improve at doubles for our MACJC matches ahead.”

ECCC’s Oswalt Tosses No Hitter as Lady Warriors Grab Softball Sweep

East Central Community College’s Kaitlyn Oswalt threw a five-inning no hitter in game one to propel the Lady Warriors to a softball sweep over the Coastal Alabama-East Warhawks Thursday, Feb. 15, in Brewton, Ala.

The ECCC Lady Warriors won game one 10-0. East Central won game two 9-0 in five innings as sophomore pitcher Mackenzie Rousseau gave up just one hit over four innings before Anna Norris (Grove Oak, Ala., Geraldine) pitched the final inning. The Lady Warriors picked up 26 hits in the two games.
