No. 8 ECCC Softball to Face No. 1 JCJC in MACJC State Tournament

After sweeping Northwest Mississippi Community College in a first round playoff series last weekend, the East Central Community College Lady Warrior softball team will compete in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State Tournament Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville.
All four teams participating are ranked in the top 10 in the country.

ECCC Softball Sweeps Northwest to Advance to MACJC State Tournament
The East Central Community College softball team swept Northwest Mississippi Community College in an MACJC best-of-three playoff series Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29, on the Decatur campus to advance to next weekend’s state tournament.
The Lady Diamond Warriors took game one 13-5 on Friday after putting up seven runs in the third inning. East Central then won a back and forth game two battle on Saturday 17-12.
Deadline to Enter ECCC Alumni Association’s Warrior Golf Classic May 8

The deadline to sign up for the East Central Community College Alumni Association’s 16th Annual Warrior Golf Classic is Monday, May 8. The tournament to support the scholarship program at the college is scheduled for Thursday, May 11, at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Choctaw.
ECCC Preparing to Tackle Budget Cuts in Upcoming Fiscal Year

All options for revenue increases and expenditure reductions for fiscal year 2018 are being considered according to President Dr. Billy Stewart as East Central Community College (ECCC) prepares to deal with a more than $1 million reduction in state appropriations in the upcoming fiscal year. The college is anticipating a reduction of $1,042,151 when the 2018 fiscal year begins on July 1, 2017, which represents a 9.61 percent decrease in state appropriations compared to the original figure from the 2017 fiscal year.
