The East Central Community College Lady Warriors outscored the Coahoma Lady Tigers by 20 in the final two periods to overcome a halftime deficit and grab a win, while the ECCC Warriors lost a heartbreaker to the Coahoma Tigers on a buzzer-beating three-pointer in MACJC non-division action at the Pinnacle on the Coahoma campus in Clarksdale Saturday, Dec. 8.

East Central Community College head women’s soccer coach Ryan Joiner has announced the ECCC Spring ID Camp set for Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at the Soccer Field on the campus in Decatur.

The ECCC Spring ID Camp is only for female soccer players in grades 8 through 12 (graduating classes of 2019-2023) and is an opportunity to be evaluated by college coaches and to train with other talented soccer players.

East Central Community College’s 2018 Warrior Wonderland scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, has been canceled due to the potential for rain in the late afternoon and evening.

Warrior Wonderland was scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., immediately following the Decatur Christmas Parade, and last until 8:30 p.m. on the ECCC campus in Decatur. Several national and local weather forecasts indicate the high potential for rain beginning late Friday afternoon and continuing throughout the evening and into Saturday.

East Central Community College in Decatur will hold an Orientation Session Thursday, Jan. 3, for those new students who wish to attend ECCC during the spring 2019 semester and have yet to register for classes.

The East Central Community College basketball teams opened MACJC South Division play Dec. 3 with a couple of tough road losses to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in the Weathers-Wentzell Center on the MGCCC campus in Perkinston.

The East Central Community College Small Business Development Center will offer a free seminar on “First Steps-The Process of Starting a Small Business” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at the Carthage Career Advancement Center, located at 121 West Main Street, Carthage.

This seminar will include basic steps in starting your own business. Topics will include licenses and permits, legal forms of ownership, basic marketing concepts, lending terminology and outlining a business plan.
