The East Central Community College Art Club will sponsor its third annual Halloween Haunted House from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29-30, in the Vickers Fine Arts Center on the Decatur campus.

Admission is $5 for everyone over age six and $1 for age six and under.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser will support the activities of the ECCC Art Club, including a planned trip to the Chicago Institute of Art during Spring Break 2019 and an annual trip to New Orleans.

The East Central Community College women’s and men’s basketball teams will host JUCO Jamborees on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 27, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium on the campus in Decatur.

The East Central Community College Lady Warriors held No. 11 ranked Holmes Community College without a goal for the first 70 minutes of play before falling 2-0 to the Lady Bulldogs in a match played Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.

The Lady Warriors held the undefeated Lady Bulldogs to just two late goals in the loss. The Holmes women came into the match averaging nearly five goals per outing.

East Central Community College sophomore midfielder Vitor Gomes has been named the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts Oct. 1-7.

The East Central Community College Warriors snapped a five-match losing streak with a 5-2 soccer win over the visiting Northwest Rangers Friday, Oct. 5, at the Soccer Field on the ECCC campus in Decatur.

In the women’s match, the Lady Warriors dropped a 3-2 decision to the Northwest Lady Rangers.

East Central got a hat trick from the MACJC North Division’s leading scorer to defeat the Rangers. Sophomore midfielder Vitor Gomes from Fortaleza, Brazil, scored three goals to pace the Warriors in the 5-2 win.
