East Central Community College’s DECA is sponsoring a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-themed Escape Room on the Decatur campus Oct. 15 to Nov. 2 with all proceeds to support the activities of the student organization.

The Jones College Bobcats netted nine goals in the final 23 minutes of action to post a 14-3 soccer win over the East Central Community College Warriors in non-division action Wednesday, Sept. 26, in Decatur.

The match was played on the turf in Bailey Stadium due to the wet conditions at the Soccer Field.

The Jones Bobcats only led 3-2 at the half and then 5-3 with 23 minutes remaining before a flurry of activity resulted in a 9-0 goal run by Jones for the big win.

The East Central Community College softball program is hosting its 2018 Thankful Prospects Camp the Saturday before Thanksgiving for several age groups.

The camp will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at the ECCC Softball Complex on the campus in Decatur. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The cost is $100 per player if paid by Nov. 3, or $110 per player if paid on the day of the camp.

The camp is open to all softball players who will graduate high school from 2019-2024.

Visiting LSU-Eunice got two goals in each half to defeat the East Central Community College Lady Warriors 4-1 in the first-ever meeting between the two programs Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Soccer Field in Decatur.

The Lady Bengals from Eunice, La., are in their first season playing NJCAA Region 23 soccer.

East Central’s lone goal came off the foot of freshman forward Macey Spencer of Florence unassisted early in the second half.

East Central Community College alumni Aubry Cox of Carthage, a former Warrior basketball standout, and Kristin Chaney of Little Rock, a former basketball and softball standout and the college’s only two-sport All-American, will join the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, when ECCC holds its annual Homecoming festivities on the Decatur campus.

East Central Community College alumni George Taylor of Forest, retired vice chairman of Community Bank of Mississippi, and Gina Hollingsworth Gordon, gifted education teacher with the Newton Municipal School District, will be recognized as Alumnus and Alumna of the Year, respectively, Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, when the college holds its annual Homecoming festivities on the Decatur campus.

The East Central Community College Lady Warriors shutout an opponent for the first time since the opening match of the season, while the Warriors fell to an undefeated opponent for the second straight match as Southwest Mississippi visited Decatur on Friday, Sept. 21.

The Lady Warriors beat the Lady Bears 3-0 in the opening match, while the Warriors fell 7-2 to the Bears in the nightcap. The matches were played in Bailey Stadium on the ECCC campus.

Three East Central Community College Lady Warriors and three Warriors have been selected to participate in the 2018 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Soccer Sophomore All-Star Matches to be played Saturday, Nov. 10, at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.

The women’s match is set for 2 p.m. with the men's match to follow at 4:30 p.m.
