An endowed scholarship has been established at East Central Community College in Decatur in honor of Haywood Reeves of Forest, an ECCC graduate and former member of the faculty.
The scholarship was established by the late Ray Britt and Jayne Britt of Walnut Grove in honor of their friend.

The East Central Community College Warrior golf team posted another top-five finish last week as the team tied for fifth in the third MACCC event of the year Oct. 10-11. The tournament, hosted by Meridian Community College and played at Briarwood Country Club, featured an 11-team field.

The Warriors of East Central Community College fell to the Northeast Tigers, 34-20, on Thursday, Oct. 6, in a cross-divisional matchup in Booneville. With the loss, the Warriors moved to 0-6, 0-3 on the year, while the Tigers improved to 3-3, 1-2.
The East Central Community College tennis program is hosting its annual Woods & Whites Doubles Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Tennis Complex on the ECCC campus in Decatur.
The Woods & Whites event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $40 per player, payable at the event. All proceeds support the ECCC men's and women's tennis programs and facilities.

The East Central Community College golf team had a great outing in the second MACCC event of the year with a T-5th finish in the Gulf Region Preview hosted by Copiah-Lincoln at Beau Pre' Country Club in Natchez September 29-30.
The event, the second of the year for the Warriors, was played on the par-72 course at 6,993 yards. The Warriors finished the opening round in second to last place with a 338 team total, before bouncing back in round two with a stellar 316, the third lowest team total of the day, to move the team up four spots at 654.

East Central Community College’s Theta Xi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa was awarded a $1,000 Honors in Action grant funded by the Mellon Foundation to enhance the college’s 2022 Honors in Action project.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges.

East Central Community College in Decatur has announced the members of its Warrior Corps student ambassador and recruitment team for the 2022-23 school year.
According to Dr. Marie Roberts, ECCC’s executive director for enrollment management, Warrior Corps is a highly selective and diverse group of current student leaders selected to represent East Central Community College before the public as official hosts and hostesses.
