The East Central Community College Lady Diamond Warriors swept a softball doubleheader from MACJC conference foe Coahoma Community College on Saturday, March 5, in Clarksdale.
ECCC improved its overall record to 18-3 and 2-2 in MACJC play.
In a high-scoring game one, the Lady Diamond Warriors won 13-0, with 10 of those runs coming in their first three at-bats.
ECCC put up three runs in the first and five in the second inning en route to the five inning, run-rule game.
The East Central Community College baseball team defeated Itawamba Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 5, at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex in Decatur.
The Diamond Warriors won 13-1 in the seven-inning game one win.
Two big innings propelled East Central in game one. ECCC took the early lead after scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Diamond Warriors then added six more runs in the fifth to push the lead to 10-0.
The East Central Community College Lady Warriors beat Marion Military Institute 6-3 in a tennis match played March 4 on the Decatur campus.

East Central Community College’s women’s tennis team defeated Copiah-Lincoln Community College 5-4, while the men’s tennis team fell against the Wolves 3-6 Wednesday, March 2, in Decatur.

The East Central Community College Warriors began their spring golf season competing against 14 teams in the Mississippi College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 29 and March 1, at the Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison.
ECCC tied for 12th place overall, as one of only three community colleges in the tournament.
The Warriors two-day, three round total was 944.
East Central Community College’s Encore players will present their spring musical selection, “The Addams Family,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, through Saturday, March 19, in the Vickers Fine Arts Auditorium on the Decatur campus.

East Central Community College continues its Cultural Arts Series with a presentation by visual artist LeeReyna Lopez Leyva at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in the Vickers Fine Arts Center on the Decatur campus.
The East Central Community College Diamond Warriors swept National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Lawson State Community College out of Birmingham, Ala., 9-8 and 10-1 on Monday, Feb. 29, in Decatur.
The Diamond Warriors’ overall record improved to 10-4. Lawson State’s record dropped to 7-4.
In the close game-one matchup, ECCC had to overcome an 8-4 Lawson State lead with five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for the 9-8 win.
