All five current Distinguished Young Women from the East Central Community College district are attending the college this academic year.
Dr. Randall Lee, vice president for student services at ECCC, said being able to attract top students such as those who are Distinguished Young Women is a testament to the college’s outstanding academic programs.

For the second straight year, students who transferred from East Central Community College to four-year institutions earned the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) of all community college transfers in the state of Mississippi.

For the third straight year, East Central Community College in Decatur is included in the list of Top 50 Fastest Growing Community Colleges in the United States, according to the Dec. 8, 2014, issue of Community College Week, a national publication located in Selmer, Tenn.
East Central was ranked 36th in the list of two-year institutions with student enrollments from 2,500 to 4,999.
