The East Central Community College Warriors have scheduled open football tryouts for the 2022 season for Friday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m. The tryouts will be held on Warrior Field at Bailey Stadium in Decatur on the ECCC campus.

The Warriors of East Central gave the Southwest Bears all they had on Thursday night, January 27, but the deep-ball from the Bears allowed Southwest to hang on for a 93-84 victory. With the loss, the Warriors fall to 4-10, 2-6 on the year, while the Bears improve to 12-6, 5-4.

East Central Community College in Decatur is hosting its 3rd Annual Invitational High School Art Exhibition Feb. 7 through March 1.

The art by area high school students will be on display in the Vickers Fine Arts Center on campus during normal college operating hours. ECCC is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to Noon on Friday.

There will be an awards reception on Tuesday, March 1, at 6 p.m., also in the Vickers Fine Arts Center.

After a two-year absence due to COVID-19, East Central Community College will hold its Business, Education, & Healthcare Career Expo from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium on the Decatur campus.

The public is invited to attend and there is no charge for admission.

It was a tale of two halves for the East Central Lady Warriors on Monday night, January 24, as ECCC fell to the Lady Rangers of Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia, 83-69. The Lady Warriors dropped to 7-7 on the year and 3-4 in MACCC play and NWCC improved to 10-7, 4-4.

The East Central Community College Warriors fell 69-55 in a hard-nosed matchup with the Northwest Rangers on Monday night, January 24. With the loss, the Warriors fall to 4-9, 2-4 on the year, while the Rangers move to 12-4, 5-3.
