East Central Community College is hosting its second free COVID-19 vaccination clinic of the fall semester on Wednesday, Sept. 8, on the campus in Decatur. Rush Health Systems is sponsoring the clinic with the college.
Rush personnel, with the assistance of ECCC nursing students, administered the Pfizer vaccine to 139 people during the first clinic held on campus on Aug. 18.

East Central Community College will hold its annual “Meet the Warriors” preseason pep rally at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13. Well-known DJ Aaron Tullos will be playing music throughout the evening and will emcee the introduction of the 2021 Warrior football and men’s and women’s soccer teams.
The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 30, but was postponed due to Hurricane Ida.

The Warriors of East Central Community College fell in the season opener to No. 6 Jones College, 7-0.
The Bobcats found the net early in the first half and put in two more before the break.

Over the past six academic terms, East Central Community College in Decatur will have distributed more than $6 million in federal COVID-19 pandemic relief funds directly to its students.
The funding comes from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, or HEERF, stimulus packages passed by Congress as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to provide some relief from the economic fallout related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tyler White, a native of Brandon and an MRA graduate, returns to Decatur in 2021 to help lead both the ECCC men's and women's soccer programs as an assistant coach. White was an NJCAA All-Region 23 and MACCC All-Star selection for the Warriors as he helped lead the men's program to a MACCC North Division title as a player in 2017.
