The nationally ranked Jones College tennis teams handed East Central Community College a pair of losses in MACJC matches played Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Tennis Complex on the ECCC campus in Decatur.

East Central Community College head football coach Ken Karcher announced the addition of 20 new members to the Warrior football team on National Signing Day Wednesday, Feb. 6.

The newcomers are all high school seniors.

Regena Boykin, associate director for technology management at East Central Community College in Decatur, was recently selected to serve on Jenzabar's Jenzabar One Advisory Group for Advising.

A desperation shot at the buzzer that bounced off the rim was all that kept the East Central Community College Warriors from handing the No. 9 ranked Pearl River Wildcats their first defeat of the season in basketball action Monday, Feb. 4. The ECCC Lady Warriors also fell, losing 61-56 to the PRCC Lady Wildcats at Marvin R. White Coliseum in Poplarville.

It was a big turnaround for the Warriors in the 72-70 loss to the undefeated Wildcats. Pearl River defeated East Central by 33 in Decatur back on Jan. 10.

The East Central Community College Warrior football program will host an open tryout for offensive and defensive linemen on Friday, Feb. 8, at Bailey Stadium on the ECCC campus in Decatur.

Those offensive and defensive linemen interested in trying out for the ECCC football team should report to the stadium for registration at 10 a.m. The tryouts will begin at 10:30 a.m. There is no cost to tryout.

Prospective players should bring their own cleats and gear to workout in.

The spring 2019 tennis season opened in style for East Central Community College as both the men’s and women’s teams picked up wins on the road against Marion Military Institute in Marion, Ala., Friday, Feb. 1.

The ECCC Warriors shutout the No. 17 nationally ranked Marion Tigers 9-0, while the Lady Warriors picked up an 8-1 tennis win over the shorthanded Marion Lady Tigers.
