The East Central Community College Warrior Golf Classic, a fundraiser for student scholarships, will be held for the 19th time on Friday, May 13, on the Oaks Course of the Dancing Rabbit Golf in Choctaw.

East Central Community College will host its annual Student Art Exhibit April 4-20 in the lobby of the Vickers Fine Arts Center on the Decatur campus. The public is invited to view the works between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday. The official opening is Wednesday, April 13, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m.

Due to the enhanced threat of severe weather during the afternoon and evening on Tuesday, March 22, including the possibility for damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding, all East Central Community College classes will switch to virtual learning and all offices will close beginning at Noon that day. In-person classes will resume and all offices will reopen at regular times on Wednesday, March 23.

The No. 6 East Central Community College Warriors split their second MACCC series of the year as ECCC defeated Holmes 7-2 before falling to the Bulldogs in the second game 10-6 on Saturday, March 19. The results move the Warriors to 17-4 overall and to 4-2 in conference play.

The No. 6 East Central Community College Warriors had their second MACCC doubleheader of the year on Monday, March 14, as the Southwest Mississippi Bears made the trip to Decatur.

The East Central Community College Lady Warriors softball team had a great start to MACCC play Friday, March 11, with a pair of wins over the East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions.

The wins improve the Lady Warriors record to 13-7, 2-0, and dropped the Lady Lions to 3-16, 0-2.

The No. 5 East Central Community College Baseball team made the trip to Scooba on Friday, March 11, to take on the East Mississippi Lions to open MACCC play for the 2022 season. The Warriors rallied from a five-run deficit in the opener to take a 14-10 win, but the Lions got the best of the Warriors in the nightcap, 9-3. The loss snapped an eight-game win streak and moved the Warriors to 14-3 overall and to 1-1 on the year. East Miss goes to 6-8, 1-1.

East Central Community College is hosting high school juniors from across its five-county district during the college’s annual Junior Days March 24 and 25 on the campus in Decatur.
