Christy Ferguson, business and office technology instructor at East Central Community College in Decatur, has been named a 2022 Moody Institute Fellow. She is one of four community college instructors in Mississippi to receive the honor.

The East Central Community College men's tennis team's 2022 season came to a close at the JoAnn Medlock Murphy Tennis Center in Tyler, Texas, as the Warriors picked up 8.5 points in the NJCAA DI Men's National Tournament. The event May 16-20 featured the top 25 teams in the country, including five representatives from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference in Hinds, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Jones College, Meridian, and East Central.

A team representing Prince Oil won the Championship Flight during the 19th Annual East Central Community College Warrior Golf Classic held May 13 at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, located on the Pearl River Resort in Choctaw.
Sponsored by the ECCC Alumni Association, the four-person scramble annually raises more than $10,000 for student scholarships, according to event coordinator Maria McLeod, the college’s director of external relations.
A record-tying 24 teams registered to play this year.

Nearly 350 graduates were awarded degrees and/or certificates during East Central Community College’s 93rd Spring Commencement Ceremonies held Thursday and Friday, May 5-6, 2022, in Huff Auditorium on the Decatur campus.
Associate Degree Nursing students graduated and were pinned on Thursday, May 5, followed by a ceremony for Career-Technical graduates and two ceremonies for academic program graduates on Friday, May 6.

East Central Community College's Meadow Villar has been tabbed as Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Second Team All-Conference for her efforts on the diamond throughout the 2022 season.

The East Central Community College Warriors had a great outing in the first round of the NJCAA DI National Tennis Tournament in Tyler, Texas on Monday, May 16. The Warriors picked up wins in three singles matches and one doubles match to rank third among MACCC schools in attendance.

For the third season in a row, the East Central Community College Warrior tennis team has earned an at-large bid to the NJCAA DI Men's National Tournament. The tournament will be held at the JoAnn Medlock Murphy Tennis Center in Tyler, Texas from May 16 through May 20.
