Four nationally ranked tennis teams hit the courts at the ECCC Tennis Complex Tuesday, March 10, with the men’s and women’s teams from Jones College each claiming 5-4 wins over the teams from East Central Community College.

With the losses, the No. 20 ranked ECCC Lady Warriors are now 8-4 on the season and the Warriors are 7-5. The No. 19 Jones Lady Bobcats remain undefeated at 11-0, while the No. 20 Bobcats improve to 11-2.

The East Central Community College Board of Trustees today named college alumnus Dr. Brent Gregory as the ninth president of the two-year institution in Decatur, Miss.

East Central Community College freshman outfielder Jesse Boydstun was selected the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Baseball Player of the Week for games played March 2-8.

The East Central Community College Warriors bounced back with a 4-2 win in the nightcap to salvage a doubleheader split with the East Mississippi Lions in non-conference baseball action Monday, March 9, at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the ECCC campus in Decatur.

The EMCC Lions won the opener 9-6. The Warriors are now 10-8 on the season, while EMCC is 1-13.

The two teams have already met once this season, with East Central sweeping a doubleheader in Decatur 6-4 and 9-1 back on Feb. 23.

The East Central Community College Warriors took a pair of non-conference baseball games from the visiting Jones College Bobcats Sunday, March 8, at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the campus in Decatur.

The East Central Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams picked up their second MACJC conference sweep in as many days with a pair of wins at Copiah-Lincoln in Wesson on Friday, March 6.

The No. 20 East Central Lady Warriors defeated the No. 25 ranked Co-Lin Lady Wolves 7-2, while the Warriors defeated the Wolves 8-1.

The ECCC Lady Warriors are now 8-3 on the season and the Warriors are 7-4.
