The East Central Community College Lady Warriors dropped an 87-71 basketball game to Copiah–Lincoln Community College in MACJC South Division action Monday, Feb. 13, in Wesson.

The first half featured a back and forth battle with the lead changing several times. ECCC was able to pull ahead 19-18 after one quarter, but Coach Crandal Porter’s squad trailed Co-Lin 41-34 at the half.

After the intermission the game was all Co-Lin.

East Central Community College in Decatur will offer a course in Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) at the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career-Technical Center beginning Monday, March 6, 2017.

The class will meet from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for six consecutive weeks. Clinical dates and times will be announced at a later date. A WorkKeys test will be given and participants must score at a Silver level to attend this class.

The East Central Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams were on the road again Thursday, Feb. 9, and brought home wins against two nationally ranked Hinds Community College teams.

The East Central men, ranked No. 22 in the most recent ITA rankings, beat the No. 24 ranked Hinds Eagles 6-3. The ECCC women defeated the No. 21 ranked Hinds Lady Eagles 5-4.

After falling behind by seven points at the half, the East Central Community College men’s basketball team fought back to beat Meridian Community College 80-74 Monday, Feb. 6, in Meridian.

The Warriors put up 50 points in the second half to earn the road victory.

Sophomore Tonzell Handy out of Lanier High School posted a double-double performance with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Cayman “C.J.” Ruffin of Neshoba Central High School finished with 12 points and Jaylon Bardley of New Hope High School added 11 points and four steals.
