ECCC Offering Manufacturing Safety Class in Louisville

East Central Community College is offering a three-week Manufacturing Safety class at the Louisville Career Advancement Center beginning Monday, April 5.

The class will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday for three weeks. The cost is $25.

Included in the course is an Introduction to Manufacturing, CPR, and OSHA 10 training. Those enrolling must be 18 years old and a high school graduate.

The Louisville Career Advancement Center is located at 1475 South Church Ave.

ECCC Offering Basic Welding Class in Louisville

East Central Community College is offering a four-week Basic Welding class at the Louisville/Winston County Career-Technical Center beginning Wednesday, March 31.

The class will meet from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on days to be determined for four weeks. The cost of the 32-hour class is $150.

Included in the course is GMAW, FCAW, MCAW, and SMAW processes. Each student needs a welding helmet. Boots, jeans, and long sleeves are required for this class; no shorts or jeans with holes or frays.

No. 16 Warriors Earn Baseball Split at Co-Lin

The East Central Community College baseball team has been on a tear through the MACCC with big sweeps over Mississippi Delta and Gulf Coast and a pair of splits with Itawamba and Co-Lin.

The impressive play has launched the Warriors to the No. 1 spot in the MACCC with a 13-3 conference record and caught national attention as the team has moved to No. 16 in the latest NJCAA poll. During the winning streak ECCC head coach Neal Holliman also picked up his 400th career win as the Warriors' skipper. 

Former Warriors Play on Basketball's Biggest Stage

Two former East Central Community College Warriors are in action in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. ECCC's Jariyah Covington (Starkville) played in Decatur for two seasons from 2018-2020 before inking with the Jackson State Tigers, while Kareem Thompson (Florance, Ala.) played his 2019-20 season with the Warriors before moving on to Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla. 

Stellar Hitting Highlights Baseball Split With Jones

March 11, 2021

The East Central Community College Warriors split games with the No. 12 Jones College Bobcats on Wednesday, March 10. After a dominating, 20-3, ECCC victory in game one, the Bobcats grabbed a win in the nightcap, 9-3. The games move the Warriors to 10-6 overall on the year and to the top spot in MACCC play with a 7-1 conference record. Jones moves to 13-9, 6-2.
