Additional classes at four locations have been added to the fall semester offerings by the East Central Community College Workforce Development Center.

The East Central Community College men’s soccer team was seconds away from heading into overtime against Jones County Junior College Friday, Sept. 30, in Ellisville, but a goal by freshman Jacob Thomas brought home an East Central win.
The match remained scoreless until 19 seconds to play.
Midfielder Thomas of Northwest Rankin High School scored off an assist by Tomaz McNair of Forest High School for the 1-0 victory.

The East Central Community College women’s soccer team fell to No. 11 nationally ranked Jones County Junior College 5-0 Friday, Sept. 30, in Ellisville and went on to beat Jacksonville College of Jacksonville, Texas 3-1 Saturday, Oct. 1, in Perkinston.
In the matchup with Jacksonville, the Panthers jumped on the board first before Warrior freshman Sierra Maness of Corinth High School tied up the match with 32 minutes left in the first half.

The East Central Community College golf team had its best showing of the fall 2016 season over the weekend as the Warriors finished sixth in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Event No. 3, the Hinds Community College Invitational. The 36-hole event was held at Eagle Ridge in Raymond and hosted by Hinds.
East Central posted a team score of 613, its best two-day total of the fall by 27 strokes.

Student recruiters from the University of Southern Mississippi Admissions Office will be on hand when the East Central Community College Warriors and Jones County Junior College Bobcats clash on the football field Thursday, Oct. 6. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

The East Central Community College golf team traveled to Southaven Sept. 25-26 to compete in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Event No. 2 of the fall season, hosted by Northwest Mississippi Community College.
East Central finished in 10th place in the competition, posting a team score of 663 over the 36-hole event.

The East Central Community College football team held No. 18 Copiah-Lincoln Community College in check for three full quarters, before a fourth quarter surge by the Wolves resulted in a 34-23 win over the Warriors in Stone Stadium in Wesson Thursday, Sept. 29.
East Central led 23-7 in the fourth quarter before the Co-Lin Wolves scored the last 27 points of the game to pull out the win against the Warriors.

The East Central Community College men’s soccer team defeated Meridian Community College 4-3 in overtime Wednesday, Sept. 28, in Bailey Stadium in Decatur.
ECCC jumped out to an early lead with goals by Blake Bonds of Germantown High School, assisted by Fredy Gutierrez of Pontotoc High School, and Gutierrez.
MCC fought back to tie the match up 2-2 at the half.
Gutierrez scored once again in the second half, before MCC tied the match 3-3 to send it to overtime.
