The East Central Community College women’s soccer team defeated Holmes Community College 4-0 Sept. 14 in North Division action at the Soccer Complex in Decatur.

The win against the Lady Bulldogs brings the ECCC to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the division.

Both teams were undefeated going into the matchup.

Freshman forward Sierra Maness of Corinth High School began the scoring for the Lady Warriors with a first half goal.

After the half, Ashley Langham of Florence High School scored.

Registration continues for Fall 2016 Intensive Term II on-campus and online courses at East Central Community College in Decatur.

The last day to register for on-campus courses in the Fall 2016 Intensive Term II is Thursday, Oct. 6. Classes begin on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The Newton County High School marching band will perform and one lucky student will get a chance to kick a 20-yard field goal for free tuition for the fall 2017 semester as East Central Community College hosts its annual “Be Our Guest Night” Thursday, Sept. 22.

All area high school students are invited to attend and will be admitted free to the game between the East Central Warriors and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Bailey Stadium on the ECCC campus in Decatur.

Northeast Mississippi Community College found the end-zone with 28 seconds left in the ballgame to pull out a 24-21 win against the East Central Community College in football action Thursday, Sept. 8, in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.

For the second straight week the Warriors faced a back and forth battle.

Northeast began the scoring with a 37-yard field goal to go up 3-0 with 5:30 left in the first quarter.

The East Central Community College women’s soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Senatobia.

ECCC’s lone goal was by freshman forward Eleanor Jones from New South Wales, Australia, in the first half.

In the men’s match, East Central’s Courtland Moore of Center Hill High School was able to find the net against Northwest in the first half. However, the Warriors fell to the Rangers 4-1.

With wins over visiting Itawamba Community College, the East Central Community College women’s and men’s soccer teams are 1-0 in Mississippi Association of Junior and Community Colleges North Division action. 

The Lady Warriors are now 3-0 overall on the season with the 2-0 victory over ICC Friday, Sept. 2, on the Decatur campus.
